SSG Anthony L. Mason of Sringtown, TX was born Oct. 19, 1970 in Ancon, Panama. SSG Mason joined the Texas Army National Guard Feb. 13, 2007 and attended Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Ft. Eustis, VA becoming a Helicopter Repairman.

His first assignment was with G Co., 3-149 Aviation Battalion from Oct. 22, 1977 to May 31, 2006. SSG Mason then transferred to B Co., 2-149 General Support Aviation Battalion. He served a tour in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from Feb. 3, 2003 to Sep. 21, 2003. He was posthumously promoted to the rank of SSG. SSG Mason is survived by his wife and three children.
